MISSION
The mission of the International Orem Society for Nursing Science and Scholarship is to provide a forum to advance nursing science and scholarship using Dorothea E. Orem's conceptualizations of nursing.
PURPOSES
The purposes of the Society are to
- Establish a world-wide network for interaction among nurses interested in Orem's conceptualizations of nursing.
- Expand, refine, and clarify understanding of Orem's conceptualizations of nursing.
- Provide avenues for gathering, organizing, and disseminating knowledge developed in relation to Orem's conceptualizations of nursing.
- Facilitate the use of Orem's conceptualizations of nursing as a basis for nursing education, practice, research, and theory development.
- Advance nursing science by promoting scientific and scholarship activity.
